Area Amenities

There are many amenities in the area that make Lakewoods the perfect place for four season activity. In the summer, in addition to the traditional activities of swimming, sailing, boating fishing and water skiing, there is a new professionally designed golf course under development that is only 20 minutes away by car from the Lakewoods Subdivision. As well, many hiking trails can be found. In winter, skiing is available at a nearby ski resort. Other popular winter activities in the area include snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

The local village, Barry's Bay, has all the facilities needed including shopping, building supplies, schools and a hospital. In addition, there are several antique stores open in the summer that are intriguing to browse through.

One other important amenity that should be mentioned is the proximity of the Lakewoods Subdivision to the world famous Algonquin Park. In less than 30 minutes from your Lakewoods home, you can be in the park.
